Apunta Notes — Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026 · Apunta Notes is operated by Gonzalez Consulting LLC (Oklahoma, USA). Questions: info@gonzalezcap.com
Apunta Notes is a note-taking app: you type and handwrite notes, add documents and photos, and record meetings, which Apunta turns into a transcript and meeting notes. This page explains what Apunta keeps, where it is processed, and your choices.
What Apunta keeps
- Your account: your username, the display name you choose, and your workspace memberships. You sign in with a username — Apunta never asks for your email address. The same sign-in works in Paloma Mail (one SunUp account).
- What you put in: notebooks and notes, handwriting, documents, photos and scans you add, and the audio of recordings you make.
- What Apunta makes from it: transcripts (with speaker labels such as “Person 1”), meeting notes, suggested titles, to-dos and answers to questions you ask about a note.
- Speakers: a transcript tells the voices in one recording apart (“Person 1”, “Person 2”), and you can type their names. Apunta does not keep voice prints for your account (a voice print is a set of numbers that describes how someone sounds): nobody is recognised from one recording to the next.
- Diagnostics: if the app runs into a problem, a short error report (what went wrong, the app version and device type) so we can fix it. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across other apps or websites.
On your iPhone or iPad
- Recordings in the Files app: while you record, the audio is also saved on your device, in the Files app (On My iPhone → Apunta → Recordings), so a recording is never lost if its upload is interrupted. Apunta deletes each copy once our server confirms it has every piece; you can also delete them yourself. Like any file on your device, they are included in your device backups until then.
- Phone calls during a recording: if a call interrupts a recording, Apunta notes when the call started and ended so the transcript can show the gap. It never records the call and never learns who called or their number — your device only tells Apunta that a call is in progress.
- Notifications: Apunta can alert you on the device itself, for example when a recording stops unexpectedly or a call pauses it. These alerts are made on your device; Apunta does not use a push-notification service and sends nothing to show them.
- Notes for working offline: notes you open are kept on the device so they work without signal. Signing out deletes them from the device.
- Spoken reminders: if you say “remind me to …” in a recording, Apunta makes it a reminder with your exact words and the time you said (9:00 the next morning if you didn’t say one). Only your own requests are added by themselves; anyone else’s is shown as a suggestion you can accept. If you allow it, Apunta adds the reminder to Apple Reminders on your device (it only adds, moves or removes the reminders it made), and you can turn this off in Settings. Undo in the note removes it everywhere.
Where your recordings are processed: our own computer, no AI companies
Transcripts, meeting notes and answers are made by AI software running on a computer we own and operate in Oklahoma. Your recordings, notes and documents are not sent to outside AI companies (such as OpenAI, Google or Anthropic), and they are never used to train anyone’s AI models. When that computer is offline, new recordings wait until it is back; the app shows when this happens.
Where your data is stored
Your notes, recordings, transcripts and documents are stored with our database provider, Supabase (servers in the United States), encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected so that only members of your workspace can read them. Recording audio is kept in a private storage area, never in a public link.
Who else handles data
- Supabase — database, file storage and sign-in (United States).
- Netlify — serves the Apunta website and web app (it does not receive your notes’ contents except as they pass to your browser).
- Apple — App Store and TestFlight, under Apple’s privacy policy.
- Hoy Genda — our own agenda app. Only if you connected it: your spoken reminders appear there as tasks (the reminder’s words, time and a link back to the note).
We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Recording other people
Recording a conversation without the other people’s OK can be against the law. Some states require everyone in the conversation to agree. Apunta reminds you before you record; you are responsible for telling people and following the law where you record.
Your choices
- Delete a note, notebook or document in the app: it disappears at once, and 30 days later it is erased for good from our servers, with its recordings and files (deleting a notebook deletes the notes in it). A recording you delete is erased right away.
- Turn off AI notes for a note (mark it privileged) — then no meeting notes, summaries or answers are made for it unless you allow them (its recordings are still transcribed).
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Your account → Delete my account. Your sign-in and every notebook, note, recording, transcript and document in the workspaces only you use are deleted for good, along with Paloma Mail’s data for the same sign-in. You can also email info@gonzalezcap.com. If you share a workspace with others, its content stays with that workspace.
Security
Every workspace is walled off from every other one by database rules, connections are encrypted, and the computer that processes recordings reads them with a key that never leaves it. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach that affects your data, we will tell you.
Children
Apunta Notes is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
